The Department of Systems' Programming and Development |

The main task of this department is to analyze, design, develop, and implement computerized solutions (Information systems and applications) in various colleges, centers, units, and departments of the university.
In 1996, the university purchased computerized information systems for the main university activities, which include: students' admission and registration, finance and salaries, inventory and human resources. Those systems were developed using COBOL programming language. Considering the new developments and standards in the field of information systems management, the department led transformational steps to build new in-house and web-based information systems using ORACLE database technologies. So far, the department succeeded in developing many web-based and comprehensive information systems, portals, and electronic services for all colleges, departments, units, and centers in the university.
As of 2009, the department consists of the following sections:
1.1 The Academic Information Systems
1.2 Internet & Web-based Applications
1.3 The Administrative Information Systems
