| The
Department of Systems' Programming and Development:
In 1996, the University had purchased computerized
information systems for the main university activities,
which include: students' admission and registration, finance
and salaries, inventory and human resources.
Those systems were developed using Cobol programming
language.
Considering the new developments and standards in the field
of information systems management. The department prepared
plans to develop, in-house, web-based information systems
based on using ORACLE database.
The human resources and staff salaries systems had already
been implemented, while students' admission and registration
in addition to financial systems are under development.
These systems' designs will be revisited by a specialized
international company in this field to refine the design
according to the international standard and expertise.
This consultation is part of the higher education
development project funded by the World Bank.
In addition to that, other systems had been implemented to
computerize as much as possible from the university
activities, such as student affairs and tenders.
