The
department is provide the technical support for the end
users in addition to the hardware/software maintenance for
more than 2000 PCs, different types of printers and
accessories used in the University.
The Internet connectivity is one of the main services
provided by the center. The University had signed an
agreement with Jordan Telecommunication Company to provide
the Internet connectivity and service starting with a
bandwidth of 6Mbps. The quality of Internet service is
monitored continuously by the center so that, increasing the
bandwidth can be considered. The Internet services are
provided to all faculty members to assist in scientific
research and developing teaching methods. Also, the service
is provided to all students through well established
computer labs with more than 500 PCs and laser printers.
Each student gets a username (student ID) and password when
he admitted in the University and he can use them to access
the Internet from any computer, from any lab in the
University. The center uses specialized package to manage
the Internet usage so that, this service is used only for
scientific and research applications.
In addition to above, the center prepares the technical
specifications and participates in the technical committees
for the University tenders to purchase computer equipment
and accessories. The center also offers training and
consultation services to the University staff, students and
the local community in cooperation with the center of
studies, consultations and community services.
